What is coaching?
It’s a process that happens through a conversation where a coach supports a coachee to make a change, learn something new or achieve goals. Coach follows the conversations and identify powerful questions that aim to raise awareness and provoke a change in a way a person thinks or act. A coach helps you to develop, plan and take actions following what really matters to you! The sessions might take place face-to-face, over the phone, or online.
Who hires a life coach?
There is no limitations on who hires a coach. If something matters to you and you might need help with, probably a coach is the best choice for you. From you personal life, to career, or your role in an organization as executive.
Is coaching a type of therapy?
Coaching and therapy are two separated things. Therapy is more about discovering issues that took place in the past in order to identify, articulate and understand the problems and better cope with them in the present. Where coaching is more a present-future focused approach, when discovering what’s happening now, is the key to find a way to solve a problem, achieve goals and influence the future.
How does one become a life coach?
To become a coach you need to have an appropriate level of education. Normally gained by certified Institutes and schools. Coach’s background (education or experience), can facilitate the way a coach assist a client in the field he/she has expertise on. A coach needs to practice continuously and to be up to date with skills and preparation, normally through certifications he or she gain over a period of time.
What is the difference between a coach and a consultant?
Consultant is an expert in a specific field who has been hired by a person to obtain advices on a specific topic related to his/her specialization. On the other hand, coaches don’t give suggestions/advices, unless for adding more options in a specific area the client is already exploring independently. For a coach, the client, knows already the answers. All the client needs is an help in clarifying them and make the change happen!
